GREGORY LAB
Sharon Justin
Undergraduate Student
Sharon is an undergraduate student at the University of Calgary pursuing an Honours degree in Biological Sciences. In the Integrative Viromics Lab, her research focuses on isolating bacteriophages that infect gut bacteria known to inactivate cardiac drugs, with the goal of building a phage library to study and selectively target these microbes. Sharon’s academic interests lie at the intersection of microbiology, biotechnology, and biomedical research, particularly in how microbial communities shape disease outcomes and treatment effectiveness. Through her coursework and research experiences, she has developed a strong foundation in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication, and she is excited to continue expanding her technical skills as a member of the Gregory Lab. Outside of the lab, Sharon enjoys reading, going on runs, and exploring different genres of music.
